BUS SERVICE ALERT
: Wednesday, 11 December 2013 at 3.15pm - Service X28 & school/college
buses from Aberystwyth towards Machynlleth
Just a quick note to
inform everyone of our temporary arrangements this afternoon following
the road traffic accident on the A487 in the Morben Isaf vicinity.
My apologies for not
having a Welsh version as this is a quick e-mail before the schools
close this afternoon.
Pupils from Penglais
school who normally travel on the X28 to Talybont to travel on the YP04
which will start from Penglais school today.
All pupils who
normally travel on the YP02 between Aberystwyth and Eglwysfach to also
catch the YP04 from Penglais school which will continue onwards to
Penweddig and then along the A487 through Talybont, Tre'r Ddol. Fare
paying passengers to travel on the X28 double decker from Aberystwyth to
Penweddig school, swapping here onto the YP04 school bus for all
journeys as far as Eglwysfach along the A487 via Tre'r Ddol.
YP08 school bus (Clarach)
will operate as normal but will act as a duplicate to YP04 in case of
overloading issues. YP08 will also serve Llancynfelyn Church which is
normally served by the YP02 school bus.
students and fare paying passengers who are travelling from Aberystwyth
beyond Eglwysfach to board the X28 double decker at Aberystwyth as
normal at 1530 which will continue to Penweddig school only (Penglais
pupils normally travelling on X28 as far as Eglwysfach now travelling on
YP04 - see above).
The X28 service will
then continue along the A44 via Ponterwyd, Llanidloes and Llanbrynmair
to Machynlleth. We will be providing a journey from Machynlleth towards
Tywyn which will connect with the X28 that will be operating via
travelling from Aberystwyth beyond Eglwysfach to use the X28 diverted
journey, boarding at Aberystwyth bus station at 1530, or a few minutes
later at Penweddig school. College pupils travelling to all villages
along the A487 as far as Eglwysfach, please use the YP04.
